Learn to knit!

I will teach you the basics of knitting one to one or in a small group, in your home or mine.

Absolute beginners: for those who have never knitted, or have forgotten the basics. I teach the English style of knitting. You will learn to cast on and off, the knit stitch, the purl stitch, increase and decrease,how to read a pattern, how to choose the items you require for a project.

4 hours over 2 lessons.

 Magic Loop: learn this useful method of working in the round using a circular needle, which can be used to make anything from a baby sock to a sweater. You will never have to buy double pointed needles or various lengths of circular needle again!You must be confident with the knitting basics.

2 hours

 Stranded knitting (fairisle): learn how to work with up to 4 colours in one row to make beautifully patterned garments and accessories.You must be confident with the knitting basics.

2 hours.

Stranded knitting (fairisle) in the round: as before, but working in the round. You must be confident with the knitting basics and with working in the round.

3 hours.

 Short rows: learn the wrap and turn and 6 methods of hiding your wraps when working short row shaping. Learn how to use short rows to make your knitting fit better.Advanced beginners.

3 hours

Finishing techniques: how to finish a garment to be proud of! Techniques for increasing, decreasing, cast on and off, sewing up and blocking.Advanced beginners

2-3 hours depending on techniques chosen.

All classes are supported with yarn, needles, patterns, worksheets, email or phone support and online videos included in the cost.

$40 per hour for individual lessons.

$30 per hour per person for groups of 2 to 4 people.
