Poppy Hat
This delightful flapper -
style hat is worked on straight needles for
the body and a circular or dpns for the rib.
I have written the pattern in 5 sizes
0–6, 6-12 months use DK yarn and smaller
needles
and
1- 3, 3-10, 10 -12 years use Bulky yarn and
larger needles.

am still using one pattern (changed from the original) but 3 different yarn weights and needle sizes to give 3 sizes.
baby: 35 cm / 14 inch head circumference
25g 4ply (fingering)
1 set each 3 and 3.25 mm dpns
gauge 28 sts x 36 rows in 10 cm (4 inches) over stocking st using 3.25 mm dpns.
toddler: 40 cm / 16 inch head
40 g 5 ply (sport, light DK)
1 set each 3 and 4 mm dpns
gauge 26 sts x 32 rows in 10 cm over stst using 4mm dpns
child: 45 cm / 19 inch head.
50g DK (8ply, 11 wraps per inch)
1 set each 3.25 and 4 mm dpns
Gauge 22 sts x 30 rows in 10cm over stst using 4mm dpns.
